Okay.....we have two topics now.... the first will be about collaring slaves for GS ???? some patrons have collared slaves for the Council... is this okay ???

odds are it's not okay but it's likely the patrons may not be aware it's not cool and only want to help the girls out and the Council

With the load on just the 3 Captains that We now have.
AS long as it is posted and left to the Council, I do not see an issue with a Pledged Free in kollaring for the Tavern.

Hmm well at the moment I think GS needs to calm down on the collaring of slaves, we have only just gotten the organised list of who is who in the GS collar. We don't really have a 100% Slave Trainer to keep tabs on what is going on since Kyoto though I know you are doing your bit with it Rollo.
There are still some collared slaves who have gone AWOL and there is no point taking them on if the Free are not around to interact.
How does that work here btw? I know in past some places used to tell them to interact for 2 weeks before accepting them in a collar, to show enthusiasim and commitment which put the part time slaves off.

here are two sides to this coin..... In *MY* opinion or train of thought, of course it is okay, and better yet, a good sign, that any pledged patron would jump at the chance to collar a slave for the GS... and it was allowed under the old Council rules...so I think it positive........

Well I think if the Council is ok with it cause of it being so slow during the summer then by all means go for it.

Aye, Thorfinn.... that is the other side of the coin, or part of it at least..... a more * hands on * slave Master or trainer will be needed soon..... but also, as Thorfinn says..... just * throwing * a collar on some new girl that doesn't know or understand just what it means or will be demanded of her seems a waste of time..... I mean, if she is just some first or second time visitor, and all of a sudden thinks, * WOW, i can play slave and get non stop cyber sex by wearing some collar.....???? * it should be much more serious and taken as such........

Aye well if Patrons are going to collar then a procedure should be organised as ingrid has stated, contact the Council, post on Slave Board, get in touch with trainers, go under evaluation because one thing I hate seeing is people putting in lots of effort only for it to be thrown back in their faces because a slave cannot stick it out for longer than a few weeks.

I just tie them to the post in the tavern till a Council member was able to deal with the girl. I think it would be a good test to see if she really wants to call GS home if she keeps coming back and is still on the pole.

Trying to remember more clearly..... perhaps the old way was that a patron could collar on a temporary level or something like that.... perhaps it is a matter for the Council to make a clear and definate ruling on ?????

At one point, we had a rule that only the Captains of HoRW could collar a slave to the house unless specific permission was granted. Due to the various hours kept by some, this allowed for a patron of the house to collar a slave who was unable to be here during the times the Captains were around.
My thought is that a good slave will quickly find a home and while making sure they are interested in the 'long haul', no one would want to keep them waiting needlessly because their hours did not match those of the Captains.

When I became Lt. I was told I could collar for GS so I think with 6 people around, sooner or later, one person is going to manage to deal with it.
Perhaps the person who does the collaring can take on the responsibility for the short term to ensure the slave knows exactly what is what until things progress.

Then for now, or until any officail change is made, lets say that only a Captain or Lt can actually collar to GS....but any patron could temporarilly collar a slave with the intent of turning her over to the first Council member he/she sees to do so.......agreed ????????

the only problem ely sees with trying to find a Capitan or Advisor is that it takes too long. This one was collard by Master MDK who at the time was just a Patron. Honestly if ely had to wait days maybe weeks she would have found another place to serve but ely cant see being any other way now *s*

the idea of just leaving the girl hanging at the post, while it may be very Gorean from the books, would not work with any new slave here on-line..... so I think that not a viable idea....

What if a Captain or LT are in the room but are busy. THis way they know the girl wishes to be kolared and they can deal with her when they are free?

I believe that GS did away with both potection collars and trianing collars...so the {GS}t thing might not be right..... if the girl wants to be collared, and is worth her slat, she should also be bright enough to tell the first Council member she sees on-line that she needs to be changed from the temp collar to a GS one ..... Right ????

topaz agrees, that is a girl has to wait days before seeing a council member, she will just move onto another Gorean site who wants her....
also, as long as topaz has been around...about 3 years now...she has seen any Free kolar a girl to the Tavern, posting that they are to report to the slave Master or FG asap, also given the link to the slave manual, etc...

Then as I see it, the way for it to work is thus.... any patron can collar a slave, in a temporary manner, for GS, but it does not become official until see seeks out a Council member to make it official....... Okay ???

It's a delicate line for a new slave between waiting to be properly collared and waiting too long and choosing to look elsewhere. I'm confident that the Council will devise a way to handle the situation appropriately.

I like the idea of any Patron being able to kolar... the {GS}t and a note on the boards will let the Council members knowing that a new girl needs to be evaluated and branded

Perhaps this is an issue that could be placed on hold until a Full time Slave Master/Mistress be put in place.
For now we can accept that Patrons have collared for GS and then we can deal with the two females who have recently been collared?
Pretty much everyone has made some good points here, people can't wait forever to be collared but at the same time, there is no point simply collaring someone who simply appears one day and then vanishes the next week.

Rast..... the main reason, as I see it, would be to make sure that the slave knows just who ownes her now, and to lend a degree of *official act * to the collaring..... then there is no confusion about who owns and controls the slave .........

Rollo, I assume the council takes pledges as seriously as they do kolars. As such I would think there would be a level of confidence in the pledge to know what they are doing in such things, if not then the Council should rethink how they do pledges before they decide about kolarings.

Okay.....lets move on..... as more of a REMINDER than a topic.... lets make it clear that the slave kennles are there for ALL slaves....GS, private, and visiting slves....to be able to talk, learn, and get to know eachother.... a kind of * slaves only *area..... The ONLY Free that are allowed there are Council members.... NO OTHER free persons need to go there or should....... Okay ???????? but then that does not mean that slaves can go there and hide from the free..... if free show up in GS or the Piazza, etc..... slaves are EXPECTED to go and serve, unless slave class is going on.....any othetr time, get your cute butts up and go serve.....understood by ALL ?????????

Rast, I believe so to.....but we both know that there are levels of committment or understanding.......ie. there are pledges, and PLEDGES....if some hard fast clear cut rule is needed to make everybody happy and keep things running smooth, then I guess the Captains will have to make some... but I do understand YOUR point.....
