Kyoto~~~ What caught my attention was what you said about the freewomen. I've noticed that alot take for granted that they are immune to punishment. There have been times when I have considered putting an FW at the pole for a time to let her know her place a bit better. I would not whip one, mind you, simply bind her there for a time. Such a punishment is not unheard of in the books if I am not mistaken...

others seem to be having an off night at times, barely able to go through the motions and have trouble conversing, and I try to not burden them. Additionally, I try to be cautious to defer to Men Who may be in need of service.

And I also think that FW are within their rights to speak their minds....openly..... BUT not to the point that they seem to try and PUSH their ideas above anybody elses, or the Councils... FW are not perfect, hell NOBODY is... but the actions of one or two * bad apples * should NOT bring the wrath of everybody down on ALL of them.....

VERY often, I am flat out busy trying to deal with several ppl whispering to Me about this or that problem.... and Rollo is a slow old bastard... For My OWN feelings, or My own way of looking at things, I would not ask for a serve, and then ignore ANY kajira.... If I can watch, and enjoy..or at least give the girl the minimum attention * I * think she deserves, THEY should I have her work her ass off to just be ignored ????? that is plain BULLSHIT !!!!!

If a men allows himself to be lead away from a kajira by a FW, or tries juggeling 2,3, or MORE women at the same time, the guy is a SCHMUCK.... also often some Masters seem to see only one slave or another and not the whole picture ...( Make note I said whole picture, not hole....LOL...LOL..
arianna{HK}~~~ penny some girls like to write pretty and flowery serves, that is why some of us came here in the first place, to be more expressive and more creative. ari tries to be very creative in her serves she tries to make them fun for both herself and the Master she is trying to please. However, more often than not, ari is not required to serve why because she is privately owned and not the newest little toy coming through the door. sometimes she enters and just sits and watches as older slaves are ignored and newer ones are given all the attention. there is only so much cleaning of the tavern a girl can do *shrugs* it makes it hard

penny{Kyo}~~~ Mistress Kayla, when penny was new, she was forever corrected in public, and learned quickly and well from her mistakes... correction doesn't necessarily mean criticism... it is meant for the betterment of the slave... penny is forever being chastized... *grinning* but she takes a stand and speaks her mind openly... it shouldn't be a bad thing to be honest, if done respectfully and with the intent to help, rather than to hurt.
arianna{HK}~~~ hmmm...we have 'set' trainers here in GS Master Lemuel, ari's not seen one Mistress's name on that list she doesn't think any have offered to train either....after all 'really' unless they have been a slave how can they properly teach a slave how to serve?

Shadowglade~~~ Personally, I think alot of the problems going on in GS of late have to do with some misinformation, or perhaps some ignorance, or perhaps the fact that many are taking some things for granted...and we've all been guilty of THAT one...The questions I have are: 1. are the slaves unhappy because they do not get a response at all, or just what they think should be a proper one? and 2. would it help if GS offered training to the Free officially?

penny{Kyo}~~~ Mistress Asellus, if done in a non threatening way, classes for the Free could be a great benefit... just like a lecture series, perhaps... maybe a class on sparring, or on the varied beverages on Gor... or perhaps a class on Gorean castes, etc... and slaves could benefit from listening in on classes like that, too, although perhaps it would make the Free feel less "free" if slaves were present while They were in an academic setting...

Shadowglade~~~ My question was one solution to the problems we as a whole are experiencing, I know that at one time Captain Bolt wanted to do a training course for any and all interested in the Warrior Caste, and mentioned that He was considering widening it to include all Free....I Myself think it would also be benificial, and would think that were it official, it may lend some creedance to it...*shrugs* I Myself have not learned all I would like of Gor, nor of what it means to BE Gorean, and would welcome the chance to learn, and to teach what I know to others...*shrugs* but it would really depend on how much commitment was shown by those interested in attending....*shrugs*

Rollo the Ax~~~ Okay, to wrap things up a bit... training for the Free is and has been a good idea...the trouble is getting those who NEED it the most are those that won't do it....the case of leading a horse to water, but not being able to make them drink...well, the same can be said for horse's asses.....LOL....LOL.. I would suggest that we ALL try a bit more to be more open and willing to try harder, and at the same time be willing to cut the other person a bit more slack... and see if we can't get things back on track...that does NOT mean that we should let ppl get away with crap.... wrong is still wrong... and if anybody does something WRONG, they need called on it.....

Torin~~~ Shadow, a very grave concern of mine is that one unfamiliar with gor stumbles into the tavern and ends up crying r/t because some Master beats the girl up. I think the Piazza is not a solution. I think of my 19 year old niece stumbling in here, only wanting to make new friends and have some fun and some Master attacking her and she knows nothing other than someone has been rude to her. My niece is sensitive. She would cry. And when I approach Masters treating the the uninitiated in such manner, they typically use gor as an excuse for their nasty behavior and say something like "Gor is harsh." Well, that is completely unacceptable to me. We need the Council to seriously address this issue and protect the uninitiated. *casual wave*

For Our parts as Free Men, if We see such happen, it is within Our right to say something about it, and tell those that take the stance that "Gor is harsh" is a good reason to be rude to someone innocently exploring, and maybe even interested in Gor, that they are assholes...straight up.
As for the Council taking a stance on it. They are limited to a certain degree, as They have to look out for everyone's interests, not just the newcomers, and try to strike an even balance between them. As it was once said to Me, wearing the title "Captain" Does not make One a superman with all the answers...They're trying, and sometimes don't succeed....

I would like to see the counsel make it very clear to all that it is simply not acceptable, gor or no gor, to make young girls cry at their computers. I can tell you right now, gor isn't worth it to me if young girls are crying at home. Sorry, but just the way I see it.
