I can see both sides. It would be nice for new Patrons to know Who they could turn to for advice, besides the Advisors. On the other hand, it might discourage a lot of potentially good ppl.

Gornt~~~ well those of Us newer to Gor may not measure up or rank as high as we would like
Lemuel~~~ Also, if a newer Person were to be ranked higher than One that had been with the Tavern longer, it might create some bad feelings.

Kayla~~~ well those would be details for each site to make... but it would be up to each person just how far they would go... it would mean more involvement and more studying to learn about not only the site but also Gor on line and the books...

Kayla~~~ I think the start up has many potential problems such as that mentioned Lemuel but once in place it would be equal for All Free... to at least advance within the ranks of their chosen Caste

Kayla~~~ Some would and some wouldn't I guess... It is an idea with many problems attached.... any other ideas to get Free to become more involved and to keep them expanding their knowledge of Gor and to be better Masters/Mistresses????

Respect. Respect according to the books. Not all free were granted respect by slaves, especially if their owners did not like that particular free. Slaves were often made to taunt and tease, show no respect whatsoever. Why would it be any different online that in the books? Just a topic that's been on ja's mind for a while.

And a side tracking of sorts, how can we respect every person that comes into GS with a capped name? Do the free (not saying it's allowed to disrespect them because the free do, just curious)? respect all with a capped name that is?

Kayla~~~ respect to all capped names and let the Free deal with the problem ones *S*... there are plenty that I agree do not deserve the respect and I am quite sure of some slaves being able to tell the good from the bad... but it would be dangerous to allow slaves the freedom to choose who they serve

BladeBane's ja`dain~~~ Oh very true, Mistress, ja *does* see your point. After all, what would slavery be if there was total freedom? It would not be slavery (apart from total freedom in certain areas).
But what if....your owner finds someone a total joke? As a slave, you mold to your owner...in a way, no matter how freely you are kept, you take over most of his/her opinions....so how to deal with it? When everything inside you screams that this person is not a man in any way, shape or form?

no matter what the bare amount of respect is due from a slave... the Free should ban together or the Council. or Admins and take care of the problem but the slave showing disrespect for the "HNG" (or whatever) shows Me that one day the slave may well decide the same of Me?... and for a slave to judge Free on Gor is just unheard of what ever the reason *S*
