Welcome everybody to this weeks edition of the GS forum.... we will follow the same rules as always... everybody gets to have their say...even slaves, as long as it is done in a respectful manner.. once we start, keep the personal chit chat and greetings and such in WHISPERS so as to take some of the burden off of the scribes... anybody with a topic, question, or anything they wish to discuss, PM it to ME, and I will bring them up as time allows.. LACK OF ROLE PLAY ON ENTERING ROOMS

Okay... on to business..our first topic is as follows....**Entering rooms - where has the role play gone when people enter? An entry with a greeting Tal, and greetings all, is a lack of role play. The protocols say do not greet until a person has posted an entry
Slaves must post entries, before greeting, so why not others?

Captain Rollo I put that topic forward I unless I enter the forum room usually post I go to my furs and kneel etc etc..
then greet any free by name and then slaves,..
IMO this demonstrates where I kneel as a FW, and respect to those who are present....

Yes... it is the * proper * way to do it... a post about how, what, and such when somebody enters.... perhaps the term * respect * ( while it does explain one aspect of the issue ) may well be seen as too much for some... I mean, for some folks, a simple ** Hi, how's it hanging ** is okay and proper in THEIR mind... I guess what I am TRYING to say is ... Everybody does things a bit different, so lets not get our noses out of joint over some * imagined * disrespect... save it for when you KNOW full well that the other person is screwing with YOU... okay ????

The thing to remember is that one persons idea about what IS or is NOT ANYTHING.... be it respect or honor, is that not everybody sees it exactly the same... hell for some, they have no idea what either IS so how can they be expected to act accordingly ???? The way * I * try to deal with this sort of issue is simple.... * Is the person doing or NOT doing whatever to ME or about ME, somebody I even really give a damn about ??? if no, then they can go take a leap at a rolling donut... if it IS somebody I care about.... THEN I worry about their actions......**

Slaves are expected to greet all Free Persons after entering Gorean Shores, unless in the service of someone, and as new Patrons enter. Do NOT greet a Free until they have posted an entrance or a greeting first. And remember, slaves should always thank the person who allowed you to enter when you greet them

the problem arised in my opinion, when even a slave doesn't post an entrance, i have seen girls enter and the first thing said is...may girl please enter? doesn't even state that she is kneeling and yet i have seen free allow the girl entrance....in this situation, the girl needs be told to do it better or be gone

A good point, galah..... and while it may not seem fair to some, it is a simple FACT that while a Free might enter any which old way they want, a slave CAN be told to go back and do it again BETTER .... you are correct, galah... we just need to enforce the point more......

As for getting the names and sex right ??? Honesty is still the best policy.... if some drop kick is using a name that does not make it clear, then ASK..( respectfully of course ) ... maybe they will work a bit harder at making themselves better seen and understood the next time

This issue seems to have more than one answer or side to it... if everybody is showing up for some special event, but for some reason the person that usually runs it does NOT show, how about somebody else * jumps in * and takes care of it ??? I would think so Rollo. Kind of like forums. When you don't make it, Xertog or I jump in and run it. The same principal can work on game night.
As far as happy ahn goes, there's not really anything that has to be run. The slaves serve the Free, and the ale is free and all present should just have a good time.
If someone wants to start a game or something, sure go ahead.
