GOR AFFECTING YOU?

Ulrich   Ok it seems we are a bit late getting started.

I'll go ahead and call forum to order.

By now, everyone knows what that means. Keep the greetings and cross talk to whispers, and keep the open discussion to the subject at hand.

Now if anyone has a topic for discussion, whisper it to me and I'll get this thing going.

Ulrich Ok we have our first topic. It's a good one, one that will make you look inside yourself a little bit.

Do you feel that Gor has enriched your life, and has it enriched your creativity?

Deirdre I think Gor has enriched My life in many ways. I have met the most amazing people here......in a venue that is totally unique. I dabble in community theater also in r/t......and I know that Gor has helped My character analysis......

zoya{Rm}~t yes, definitely to both questions

Symbian I say it has I found that R/p in the rooms or on the board has sparked My imagination

Laroona I think that gor has certainly expanded my creativity...

and enrichment it has as I have got to know many people I am sure in any other venue I would not have met....

Ulrich I agree Deirdre. There are many good people here, and for me, it has fueled my imagination, and to some degree, has enriched my life by showing me a different perspective of different things.

lynn {SY} hmmmm,,,, thinks this one over carefully, she never knew coming into this there would be so much to learn and accomplish ,one thing for sure this girl has learnt how and when to shut her mouth, for in r/t she is not like that alot, but here she is learning to do it more so,, giggles,,~~~

Laroona I like the way the girls have found various ways to express themselves... in serves and dance and as a Free I feel I have to respond back to the girls serves

also in r/p there are many ways one can r/p in GS...

David I for one have found it very interesting. The more I read on it the more I wantto learn even tonight I told my first story it makes me think on many levels

luscious {Kh}creativity is something that if you dont use it, you tend to lack in that department... so when luscious first came to Gor.. her creativity and imagination was ,lets say, not quite up to par.. but, after awhile here, she has learned to close her eyes, and picture what she is trying to convey to someone, and she is able to more clearly paint a picture with her words, so YES, Gor has definitely expanded my creativity, and imagination. As far as enrichment, the differences, and the similarities between Gor, and Earth, are many, the learning of them is very enriching, when You learn anything NEW it enriches your mind.

lynn {SY} yes practice,, practice,,, ,do lots making this girl do her serves better,,, helps let the words flow out of her,, smiles,~~

Laroona I am also seeing how the newcomers to GS are adapting and r/ping

it s great to see this happening.... *S*

Symbian aye practice makes perfect

Symbian It Also makes you look at earth in a different light

especially the Gorean philosophy of Being at ones self with nature and not destroying it

Laroona It would be great to hear form some of the girls here who have not commented *S*

David I want to say here in this place I have seen Laroona talk with and help new people Going out of her way to be helpful and give them information I think she should be commended on her kindness to new ones coming here seeking to learn our ways

Symbian Aye I agree with David there

Ulrich Alright this topic seems to be winding down, as it does so, if anyone has a new topic whisper it to me, and I'll bring it forward.

Laroona looks at David… David it is IMO the duty of all who are pledged to help newcomers we all had to start somewhere.... and helping newcomers keeps GS going...

aurora{Ulrich} Master has enriched this girls life

her chain enriches this one's life every day

Many here have

there has to be something in this Gorean realm that keeps us coming back

and we in turn take something from it

boy45 this boy is very new and has made many mistakes , and is very thankful for the kindness and help that Mistress Laroona has shown me , and the girls i have meet here thank you all so much

Laroona boy you would look great in a GS collar heeeeee we all make mistakes

even us oldies LOL

WHAT WOULD YOU MISS IF GS CLOSED?

Ulrich   OK, so we can see some of what we get from Gor... now as a follow-on, what would you miss most if GS were to close the doors tomorrow?

Deirdre I would miss some of the people here.......a lot....*smiling and winking at the Builder*

David The wonderful people I have meet here and the friendship that I have started

Laroona the ability to r/p with people I know... and enjoy the cut and thrust of r/p as often you never know what is going to happen next if I go to an ordinary chat site... it is boring compared to GS so I would say first and foremost the people here... then the r/p in a gorean realm

nese{GS} nese would miss the people she has met

kelda {HoT}~t would miss having a home to come back to ...when all else failed, GS was here

luscious {Kh} luscious would miss the characters... yes, she could go to other GOR sights, but none would be Port Kar... none would have the same characters.. the ones she has been learning about, and becoming friends with.

jessenia{Rm}~t ~complete submission~ jesse would have a sense of loss at losing the only home she's ever really known....

OriginalSandman I would miss the people I have met and interacted with here

Ulrich   Obviously, it's the people. There are other Gorean sites out there, but they have different people. I think we have a good group of people here, that want to and will work together to make sure this feels like home to us all.

Laroona  would it be also because GS is more to the books than a lot of other sites?

Ulrich  Laroona, I think the key here as that we are who we are.

In other sites, people choose a "character", and play it out until the character dies or they get bored with it.

Here, we put much more of ourselves, thus making it more real and immersive.

Laroona Captain Ulrich well said *S*

David  Yes that is true as in all places you have both good and bad but here the good are so many and the bad so few its very very nice

luscious {Kh} luscious is just curious... with the Holidays coming up R/T.. and the festival coming also, is the festival equivalent to any of the Earthen Holidays?

Laroona  luscious no it was set to miss holidays *S*

 GENERATION GAPS AND GOR?

Ulrich Ok here's one, since we are being more philosophical tonight.

Generation Gap of Gor. In what way does the age at which someone "discovers" Gor impact how they receive it?

jessenia{Rm}~t ~complete submission~ jesse has seen personally where some who are younger... say from 18-25.... have been more.. "flighty"... and less sure of what they are looking for here.... *note* jesse doesn't mean all young one's of course.... just to clear that up

nay li nay li found Gor when there were things missing in her adult life....*refrains from adding more*

kainda{Kr} depends on the persons mentality on how they percive the book and how it is meant, take for instant my 17 yr old son read and found intresting and yet didnt make sence of the slave Master thing only that it was a sci fi book and yet first time I read it years ago i understood the way john norman was portraying the books if the planet existed that it could actually be this way

luscious {Kh} luscious thinks a lot depends on ones Maturity level....

Laroona hmm interesting I do not think age maters much

but it does give a different perspective as no matter how old or how young one is.. they can be the most handsome male and most beautiful woman ion GOr.,.,.. LOL

nay li was chained to one who claimed to have found Gor at 14...freaked this slut out....needless to say...she begged release

Ulrich  Of course not jesse, there are exceptions to any generalization about a group of people.

But yes, I would think the younger the person is, the more "flighty" they may be, or may be more apt to let their power as Free to go to their head a bit more.

Laroona maturity is one thing.. but then one can be mature at 16 and still not be mature at 40 LOL

essenia{Rm}~t ~complete submission~ that's true as well Master Ulrich.. jesse was actually only thinking along the line of slaves... but she does remember at least one very young Master who was a bit... much...... ~leaves it at that~

Ulrich Exactly  Laroona. Age doesn't always equal maturity. LOL

OriginalSandman I tihnk that is a generational thing Ulrich in RT we have had HR consultants discuss the difference between generations,, differences are there ,, not bad or good ,, just are

kainda{Kr} now take my daughter whom is 19 she read my Assassins book and said ya know mom i could be a FW in this book, and she explained when i asked if she understood what was being written

essenia{Rm}~t ~complete submission~ there's no doubt some immaturity at older ages as well.....

David Yes as you see in younger ones they haven’t seen or lived through what we have. SO one may take up the position that through a young mans eyes war and battle may seen to be a thing to prove oneself. But to one who has seen such sights they know no glory is found there. Also one must consider life and what each has lived and gone through. It is understood that a man of 24 has not lived like I have at 46 On the same coin I have not lived in the UK so a man from there my age will see things different than I do

That is one of the best things about Gor you can have 3 men looking at say the same slave serving and see three different things

Laroona David that is also a good point...

it can depend on where one was raised, and how.. and in what country *S*

Ulrich Exactly David. You just made a point I have tried to make many times before. Often people misunderstand each other here, and it leads to unpleasant exchanges.

But it's about each of their perspective of the situation which can be influenced by age, location, dialect, gender.. and just life experiences.

jessenia{Rm}~t ~complete submission~ jesse also thinks one's real life comes into play as well... things that they've gone thru.. or have had happen to them... affects who they are here and how their characters deal with it

Ulrich  Ok with all the silence, and having rt tugging hard, I'll call forum to close a little early this week.

How about this, over the next week, think about it, and try to bring a topic to discuss at Forum next week.
