Shadowglade

thank you ingrid....aright now that that's taken care of, if anyone has a topic, please PM it to me, and we'll get this sucker started....

Shadowglade

*gazes from one blank stare to the next waiting....listening to the waterclock drip*

ingrid{Harkon}

sorry Master i seem to have a case of brain lock tonight and can't think of any topics

Shadowglade

Ok, since no one has a topic, I'll put one up here myself. This is something that has been discussed in the past Im sure...but, I think it deserves revisiting as a topic of interest at least to me. Thralls, and Gor, and GS in general....do they or rather should they have a place in a paga tavern...?

Kayla

of course they do.. who carries the barrals of ale in????

ingrid{Harkon}

not sure if they have a place or belong but they can add a lot to the rp when given the chance

Shadowglade

*grins at Kayla* well lately, it's had to be Me.....since the former council banned them in GS....and frankly Im getting rather tired of having to do slave chores....

Kayla

well I am all for allowing them in.. and I think it is a plus for some FW will slip and show thier hear and make it easy for some man to kolar her

ingrid{Harkon}

can't thralls serve in the Piazza or were they banned site wide?

Shadowglade

*shrugs* well, let's first look at how the books deal with FM, FW and thralls....in the books, at least the one's I've read (which aren't all of them yet) male slaves were for menial labor, tillin feilds, carrying the heavy loads that kajirae can't handle...and fighting in the pits for the amusement of the free.....

Blade

Yes too a point. They can do things that the girls can not do and things FM may not wish to do. They should be covered in the Tavern and have strick rules about touch slave tavern owned slaves. For them touching privately owned slaves is up to the slaves Owner. I have no problem with them in the tavern. Might even be kinda fun to have a few to train to be fighting slaves. Let then loose in the pit to entertain us. ~L~

Kayla

Tal Harkon

they were banned from every room but the Piazza and since no one is ever in there might as well be all of GS

Kayla

Ohh Lets not forget the silk slaves for Women's pleasures *ss*

Blade

Kayla its not so much the ale, but need a few to pack all them kegs of mead that gets drank. ~L~

ingrid{Harkon}

how come the FW are never in the Piazza? it was set up for them wasn't it?

Shadowglade

Other uses for slaves as the Lady says were for the private enjoyment of FW...who often found themselves in chains owned by their former slaves....so I tend to discount silk Kajiru, Kayla...that's not to say they can't exist on online Gor though...

Blade

The hell with silk slaves make them fighting slaves ~LOL~

Kayla

was it ingi?... seems to Me that it was supposed to be a gentler Gor in the Piazza for newbies to learn and for FW who were shy and shocked easy to go... well Dei and I are not shocked easily and why would We want to be in there by Ourselves..

Shadowglade

*glancing to Blade* There are other issues with kajirus being used as fighting slaves, Blade...as you know no slaves are allowed to handle weapons of any sort in GS.....as for the Piazza being "for FW", that is not what I remember of it's inception when Rollo first brought the idea up in Council...the Piazza was more meant to be a place for newbies to learn without fear of death, capture, or other major reprisal....and to many FW and FM ingrid, the tavern has always been home....

Blade

Fighting slaves are more like boxes Shadowglade. Well thats what I got from the book anyways

Kayla

fighting slaves would be cool and trained in the yard if a following got that big.. start out with hand to hand and maybe petition the Council for weapons training later

Shadowglade

*reaches down to stroke dagny's hair softly as he continues speaking* Read again Blade...they were usually fighting with knives designed for the purpose of pit fighting....you're thinking of what Jason Marshal did when he freed himself, and went about offering to fight for money...then it was more like pit-brawling....at any rate. Kajiru....do they belong or not? I'd say it's still a 50/50 discussion...some say no, and some say yes....but then, the same is true of FW....though the gap is not so large...

Blade

Its been a while since I read the book. But now that I think about it you are right.

ingrid{Harkon}

guess in the end the Council has to decide if thralls belong or not

Shadowglade

*chuckles* say that again Blade, I like to hear that....*grinning* Im inclined personally to allow kajiru back into the tavern...though also, as a Gorean Man, I can also honestly say the most any kajirus would recieve from me would be a grudging nod....as typically, in the books, thralls were seen as weak by most FM, and only tolerated at best....

Blade

Well I only know 2 thrals and one is Kaylas who I like and the other is now free and I hate him and want to kill him. ~L~

dagny{GSsg}

~coos softly as she feels His hand stroke through spun cinnamon locks~ wasn't the discussion to not allow thralls in the tavern already desided on?

atada{Garawin}

maybe sertain kajirus if they do not show themselfs worthy only looking for a cyber moment or something can be band?

Shadowglade

*glances down at dagny and grins* It was...by the former Council that made alot of rulings on alot of things, but who...in my opinion, made alot of mistakes.....so Im opening those discussions again.

Blade

Yes it was, but Shadowglade brought this topic up. ~L~

dagny{GSsg}

~looking up to Master for a moment~ Ahhhh nods softly* just making sure she is not crazy *grins*

Kayla

most do not make it though the first day when they find they will not be cybered on the spot.. but there is the rare few like ka'jar that are worth the effort and deserve a place if they want to work that hard for it... thier lot is the hardest on line because most women don't like "weak" men and most Men hat male slaves... so they have to really be comfortable in thier place to stay around

Blade

Oh yes I think there sould be stricked rules for them if they come into the tavern.

Shadowglade

Well, it is a matter for the Council decide, I was just curious to hear ya'lls thoughts on the matter. I DO like the idea of possibly allowing fighting slaves...but until we have a good number of strong Warriors who are present consistantly...Im not sure I wish to be giving thralls any sort of weapon or training in fighting....

Blade

Yes someone like ka'jar I think I would trust to be alone in a room with some girls. Not sure I would trust the girls to be alone with him. ~LOL~

dagny{GSsg}

dagny believe that the girls would be at risk to get into trouble due to a thrall.... no offence to You Mistress... but often us girl "play" around pinch each other.... roll in the furs... and just goof.... that all involves touching... and it can be different between 2 sisters then it can be a slave and male.... even being a thrall

Kayla

LOL... don't trust ka to much Blade.. the girls love his teasing and he will go as far as he is allowed... ~Laughing softly~

Kayla

ka has rolled with the best of them *ss* ~looking to ingi~ but he has never made advances on a slave in a public room that I know of

Blade

Yes and I am sure if he was alone with some girls they may tease him alot worse then he could them. They can go to a MAster to beg to be raped. ~LOL~

Shadowglade

*chuckles* that, dagny is why no thrall would be allowed in the kennels...unless a Free is there to oversee...*winking*

ingrid{Harkon}

~glances toward the Mistress and chuckles~

dagny{GSsg}

dagny is just looking out for the girls...

Shadowglade

Alright, our time is rather short tonight, since we got started so late, and most people showed up more than a bit fashionably late...so...if there's nothing more on this topic, someone show me some love...and send me a new one...

Shadowglade

c'mon people...gotta have topics, or Im gonna call this forum a night....I haven't got the mental capacity Rollo has to keep things rolling...so....

Harkon

"I have a quick question about the tavern itself... how is it floored? Tiles earth or boards?"

kanda {N}

Master Shadowglade..if the slave of Master Neo might make a suggestion of a topic?

Shadowglade

alright folks, here's our final topic for the night...sorry kanda, too slow....

How many times should anyone in a site be given a chance to correct behavior that has proven unacceptable in their given home, before the people of their home put a finaly stop to it?

Kayla

Two steps of seamless stone lead down from the door to the main floor of the Tavern. By being slightly lower on the ground floor, the ceiling of the main room is higher than normal, dwarfing even the mightiest of Men. Beamed with wood for support, and black with the soot from the torches and lamps, it only adds to the almost overpowering sense that this is indeed ...Port Kar.

Immediately to the right of the door landing are the serving furs, where the slaves of Gorean Shores and other slaves kneel, greeting patrons and offering their services to them. The left half of the room is divided into two sections. The section closer to the front of the room contains low round tables, with furs strewn about them. These tables are for use by the patrons, and most of the tables are large enough to fit at least eight men to a table

Shadowglade

*glancing to Harkon* as I understood it, Advisor...it is floored in stone.....at least that has always been my understanding, but I could be wrong...it wouldn't be the first time....

Harkon

Looking to Shadowglade...

"It depends on the behaviour..."

Harkon

Grinning as Kayla posts words from a description somewhere... noting that nowhere in that post does it say how the tavern is floored...

dagny{GSsg}

dagny believe that the punishment should fit the crime....

Harkon

"Serious breaches should be given only one warning... minor breaches could be given three or more... as I stated, it depends on the nature of the offense..."

Shadowglade

Well whatever sort of behavior might not be acceptable...I mean we have had several folks in here over the years who have done several different things, that were "not against the rules" but were totally unacceptable....and they were given many chances before they were finally banned...however...the question is, I guess...when is enough enough?

Kayla

would make sense that that if the two steps are made of stone so would be the floor...

shirin{Thorfinn}

~*~thinking more~*~ tho shirin beleives the other areas might be wood planks, Jarl, seeing as there is or was a trap door in the kitchen floor leading to the old slave kennels ~nods~ and the dias is wood, right?

kanda{N}

shirin..somewhere kanda used to have a description and a drawing of the tavern and she thinks it was wood too but she could be wrong..

Harkon

Chuckling...

"Aye Kayla, it would make sense... but I have seen homes with stone steps and wooden floors...

For arguments sake I will say the taven floor is stone... and play it that way in any future interactions... however it probably would be a good thing if it was stated..."

Kayla

Comes to Mind that Dak we took way too long and way too many chances.... and with Jeager it was done instantaniously... ... tana{GS} was given a second chance and then proved was a dualer always a dualer...

Harkon

Nodding to shirin...

"Aye, this was my thinking..."

dagny{GSsg}

here is the map http://goreanshores.50megs.com/piazza.html

dagny{GSsg}

what does GS define as a dueler though? does that mean that you play 2 parts? or does it mean that you have been recycled and given a different name?

shirin{Thorfinn}

~nods~ would almost have to be stone under the coolroom or it would rot in no time...

Harkon

"Dualling is a bannable offense... without any warning at all...

A girl who addresses a Man incorrectly... or serves incorrectly... could receive a number of warnings... and only receive punishment when she display an inability to follow simple instructions..."

Kayla

dualing is playing two characters at the same time... In Gor

Shadowglade

In those cases, Kayla, it all had to do I think with either 1. the Council's less than stellar record of being here, and 2. a single Captain's lack of patience. Though unless it's changed, no banning from a single Captain is temporary until the entire Coucnil makes a ruling on it....but, so many things were changed, and never documented...so I might be wrong...

Harkon

Looking to dagny...

"If playing a new character after the death or retirement of an old one was considered dualling, then I would be a dualler...

Dualling, is the playing of multiple characters at the same time... usually of different kinds... for example a person who plays a Warrior, a panthergirl and a slave all in concurrent storylines and settings..."

dagny{GSsg}

nodding that is what dagny thought but she was just making sure according to GS standards

kanda{N}

kanda remembers that one trouble maker slave that was involved with Master Markos...and probably many more Masters...she took dualing toa new a new level... one time she came intotavern as a new slave and started fighting with her old character...do You remember that Mistress Kayla..?

dagny{GSsg}

nodding to Jarl Harkon.... dagny would be considered one then too, if it was that is ~soft laugh~

Kayla

Dead is dead is another matter... LOL.. and a big can of worms...

kanda that was karyanna

atada{Garawin}

*eyes open wide* that girl is in jag now! she saw her at Master Archer's Tavern tring to take this one spt when she was the only girl in His kolar

Kayla

That would not suprise Me atada...LOL the girl was a real piece of work

kanda{N}

aye karyanna and many more names..kanda grew frustrated with that one.. she took what it meant to be a slave and withhe ractions..she tried to make a mockery out of being a slave

atada{Garawin}

she didnt like her, gave this girl a bad vive *shiver*

Shadowglade

Ok folks, well, it's time, and Im calling this forum....thanks for coming out...ya'll feel free to discuss as you like...

*glancing down to dagny* you are free to serve others little one...
