Okay..... some of *MY* thoughts are as follow... while many have differing ideas or feelings, it has often been said that * slaves bring the Masters... and that Masters bring in the slaves... * both are valid .... but what we all need to remember is that it is NOT just one faction that makes or breaks ANY site... GS is a whole being, made up of all its parts... it is not JUST the masters... or not JUST the slaves... or even NOT just the FW... we are the sum of ALL of the smaller parts... THAT is what makes GS what is GS... just as it makes any other place what it is.....

I think the special events have the effect I tried to propose to people in the past. Many times, I've said someone could post on the corks "I'll be here around such and such time".
The special events tell people that it is likely there will be people at that time and would be a good time to show up. Sometimes, they can work their RT issues accordingly and free up a specific part of time.
That doesn't always work out. I can testify to that. lol. But it helps me make it more often than not.

There are those that would argue that GS is either the mosy active OR one of the oldest.... to many these are subjective issues... what I WILL say about these ideas are this..... in * MY * opinion, GS is one of the older or longest lasting ACTIVE Gorean sites... and to MY thinking, this is due in part if not total to the system that we use here... we are governed by a COUNCIL of Captains... several men who by need and by design have to work TOGETHER !!!! No ONE man is Ubar... no one man can force HIS will on the others or the members... every other Gorean site followed the books in a way that made ONE guy the BIG SHOT...
