The date differs from city to city. In some cities, it is celebrated on the last day of the Twelfth Passage Hand. But, in Ar and other cities, it is celebrated on the last day of the fifth month, the day before the Love Feast. In some ways, this holiday is similar to April Fool's Day on Earth. Slaves are permitted to play tricks and pranks upon free persons, generally without any repercussions. The slave will announce "Kajuralia" once the trick or prank is over. Slave do remember though that they are still only slaves and they are still subject to discipline if a free person wishes.

I Have been here a long while now long enough to see what many miss. Girls sitting on the furs and calling out to the room MAY I offer service. or if a Man is already being served another slave runs up and offers service. Looking at the question, I see it in two parts, 1. Going easy on slaves in general, and 2. slaves avoiding the chain of command, skipping over the first girl and the trainers when they have issues, and going first to the Free or the Captains.

Yes, Thadron, You are. But even that can have its limits. I remember an incident in the books where a slave was caught drinking from the Free bowl of a Fountain. When Some of the Free aruond called her on it, she claimed that her Master allowed her to do this. Then the Free simply took her to her Master's Home and told Him what she had done, and "encouraged" Him to give her appropriate punishment. It could have come to a sword to sword issue, because her behavior had displeased Other Free. However, if memory served, it did not.

we once before tried the system of girls going to each Free individually to be served, of course this had to follow the same order as greeting order, and in the end it just caused a lot of confusion and frustration, so that's why slaves offer to serve "out in the open" so to speak

You know, this is a paga tavern, to hell with sitting and waiting. A slave should have a pitcher of paga and a group of bowls on a close table so that when a man comes in, she grabs a bowl and the pitcher, brings it to him and offers. If he wants something else, she can go get it, but at least that might settle part of the issue.

I have been going into slave lessons and starting to be much more stern, but I have only been slave master a short time..
However, in the Tavern, I get caught in whispers and many other discussions and often things seem to slide when in reality I just didn't get to it at the time... I keep trying to put the discipline closer to the time of the crime

inara, Port Kar is closer to the North than it is to the Southern Cities. In discussing Kajuralia, it says that Port Kar was one of the FEW CITIES OF THE NORTH that did not celebrate it. And Port Kar served black wine with "second slave" as black, without sugars and creamers, , and the quotes there say this is done that way in the North and in the River Cities, and towns, rather than having "second slave" as WITH sugars and cream as was doin in the South, in the Tahari, and in the scene in Samos' castle.

Yes, Kyoto, by the books Free Women often did view Paga Taverns as "dens of iniquity", however also by the books SOME Taverns catered to Free Women. Also, Free Women of different Castes tended to view some things differently. For example, Physicians, by the nature of their duties to Their patients, are used to having to go places that few other Free Women would go. Some Free Women were Slavers themselves, in the books, and successful ones at that. Now They certainly had to become accustomed to a certain amount of "rough and tumble" dealings also. I recall another incident in the books, where a young Free Women found Herself companioned to the young Free Man She had slapped in the face with a fish the week before! *chuckle* Probably a lower Caste Free Woman, but still. We aren't all dainty little porcelain dolls that Some expect Us to be.;
