WELCOME one and all to this weeks GS forum... the rules as always ...... I do not know if there are any carry over topics to deal with, but if therer are, lets get to them quickly.... and as a NEW part of the weekly forum, we are going to spend some of the time dealing with GOREAN questions or info that any of you may wish to ask.... instead of a non stop, 2 hour gripe session about other people.... so be warned... at the FIRST case of ANYBODY attacking another person about personal crap, * I * will call the whole forum to a halt...... enough said ??????

ANNOUNCEMANTS AND REMINDERS:
There is a spar tomorrow night. Zoran vs Ulrich. It will start at 8:00PM GS time.
There is a book discussion for Tuesday. 7:30 GS time (US Central Time)
The book will be Tarnsman of Gor. Pages 1 - 53
If there is interest this can be a regular thing, monthly, bimonthly, weekly.

When you fight, you do not refresh so the old post is still there, if you do refresh you will lose the old post with there being no history view amonst all the yapping. Basically, the fighers are going to ignore all the R/P posts, BUT if it is a judged spar, it can be irritating trying to sift through the posts and there is the danger of losing one or two if not copied/pasted to a document quick enough. So yes, it can be fine, as long as noone goes overboard and posts every 10 seconds.

Okay.... from my * personal * point of view, and open spar... just for fun or practice, would most likely be open for all to see, so those doing it would have to * put up * with such distractions... so it falls to the realm of good taste for those there to keep their talk to a minimum or with limits

and to get this forum going, our first question or topic sent to me was the following.... ** The love wars are going on now among the wagon people... is there anything similar that Port Kar celebrates.. or could something similar be started in GS to perhaps attract people? **

October the 11th is approx the equivelent of the 25th of Se'Kara. Port Karians do celebrate that as the victory of the Fleets over Cos and Tyros, but I can't really see anything else on the Calenders. You can't really have a Love Wars because it is intended for the Wagon Peoples. We do have a lot of Northmen hanging around though so maybe we could try a mini version of The Thing, but again, culturually, it does not really belong in Port Kar.

As for the * Love wars * ???? It is a Gorean action... but in the books it was kept to only the one book... Turia and the Wagon people took part..... to try and export the same action to other cities or sub cultures seems out of place to me..... True, it may well be a way to TRY and get more folks active... or to get a few more ppl in GS for a few days..... but we may as well try transplanting every other * special * event that every other city held... what ??? tarn races like in Ar ??? every festival from every city ???

Ok we are derailing from Topic. The fighting slave was just an idea I should not have spoken out loud as I am aware there is only one thrall here, it was just the idea of a gambling den that would suit the character of Port Kar. So Forget it and move on. ~Chuckles~

In truth, kaissa as a game, has as many variations as there are Gorean cities or areas...... the pieces have different names, the moves have different names... even slight rules changes... so to try and nail down ANY * ONE * true set of rules is like attempting to nail jello to the wall..... it just ain't gonna work.... LOL..
