A New Advisor to GS
Although i didn't c&p the conversation of Master Rollo as He announced that the Captains had appointed Master Ceredigawn Durst, as the newest advisor to GS, nor Master Durst's acceptance of said Title. i wanted to let all know that weren't at this Monday's forum, that Master Ceredigawn Durst is the newest Advisor that has joined the ranks with:

Mistress Kayla

Rollo the Ax~~~ Let Me open the GS forum for tonight.... welcome one and all.......
Rollo the Ax~~~ Okay, folks... same rules as always ... no begging to enter or leave, keep any greetings or private talking to whispers, and no serves during the forum..... lets get things started....
Rollo the Ax~~~ Okay.. anybody with a topic they wish to have discussed, PM Me with it.....but the first topic is one that really doesn't need much debate or discussion....It is simply a * reminder * or statement to all that call GS home, that personally owned slaves are required to follow the same basic rules of behavior as GS owned slaves......
Rollo the Ax~~~ By that, I do NOT mean that the Council is telling You all what You can or can't do with or to Your own slaves....but there is a minimum accepted level of behavior or actions that ALL slaves are held to.... just because a slave is privately owned does NOT give her the right to * get away * with doing, or NOT doing certain things in GS......

Rollo the Ax~~~ Each Master/Mistress has the right to limit or restrict their slaves in whatever way they see fit.....BUT such restrictions should be exact in there wording and reasonable.... such as not serving a certain Master...not a blanket not serving at all ..... Common sense stuff folks....
Rollo the Ax~~~ Perhaps it should also be noted that * punishment * of a slave is a WIDE OPEN matter, and also open to MUCH debate..... so once again, a * guide line * from the Council... slaves, if found displeasing, could be cuffed, or lightly kicked aside, or even have their hair grabbed and pulled to make it shown that they have been found LESS than acceptable.... but NOT whipped or damaged permantly in any way....

galah{RA}~~~ and just a lil reminder to the slaves, what One Master may find acceptable, Another One could find to be displeasing, it is for you to take the responsibility for your actions at all times...for if you are even personally owned and your Master finds your actions to be acceptable, perhaps another does not find it to be sooo and cuffs you for speaking to Him in such a way....such is the way of Gor

Kyoto~~~ I agree Kayla, the only time I have killed a slave was when she was dualing, wearing both my collar and a site collar under a different name.
That was inexcusable... and it was a council member that reminded me she needed to die.

galah{RA}~~~ this one thinks you could ask every Free here the acceptable standard of punishment of a slave and you would probably have equally as many ideas, for everyone feels different about what is a punishable offense and what is not....unless some "new" Master was completly out of hand, a girl thinks it best to not interfere, for have seen to many times it erupting into warfare between the Free, and that should not happen, especially over a slave!!
Kyoto~~~ The most effective punishment I ever administered was changing penny's name to yes, Master... reminded her what I expected every time she logged on.
galah{RA}~~~ this one would think that killing a slave would be a last resort, for even though she is only property, she is valuable property and to sell her gains One much more than the momentary satisfaction of her death
p>Rollo the Ax~~~ LOL...LOL.. Aye, often the punishment needs to be set by the Master that KNOWS the slave.... LOL.. for some it might take a whip or a kick..... for others, so little as being ignored may have as much effect....

galah{RA}~~~ and to further add, those of us who take gor seriously think of ourselves as dead if we are dead, but many or most of those who are found sooooo displeasing as to find themselves dead, don't stay dead anyway, they find a new name to return to do it all over again.

galah{RA}~~~ this one has pondered that sooooooo often, Gor gets in one's blood and ya can't leave even when you want to, but should someone kill one, then she would be dead and forced to leave Gor, but in RT, Gor is still in her blood and she can't leave, so what to do, it's a most horrifying dilemma
Rollo the Ax~~~ jacia.... ALL avenues of punishment are open to a gorean Master.... It is our earthen habits or * up bringing, society, what ever term you wish to use * that makes so many that come here hesitate to use the physical one....

KILL ???? it is one thing to say * BANG, your dead...or I cut your head off * here in cyber space..... but until you have choaked the life from another human, or stood next to one killed, death is WAY TOO much of a game to many ppl.....

Alot of who I am in my real life, my opinions and personality comes out in Kyoto. I can't help it. I feel very strongly about Gor.

Kayla is a part of Me as I am a part of Her ~smiles~ but some parts of Vt Gorean exsistence just does not translate well to Rt and the other way around *S*... But I am quite serious about My role on Gor and Those around Me can affect My Rt as well as VT *S*

Kyoto~~~ Rollo, I have never killed another man... but that does not mean I take it lightly. Every death is a loss of potential. It leaves another person without someone he or she cherishes and diminishes us all. I believe that every living creature has something to offer, some destiny, even if it is a minor one.

My whole idea was to try and point out that no matter what you call it, we are ALL responsible for out actions in life... VT, RT, or what ever.... We bring SOOO much of our own * REAL * self with us to our role playing here, that we often forget that not everyone takes it as seriously as the next person.... does that explain what I tried to convey ?????

However, I cannot stop the feeling I get that when Others use the term "role-playing" I get this bad taste in My mouth, for to Others it must seem maybe silly or childish to call this "interaction" as such. Yes. The semantics of it really misconstrues the meaning. But I find that most people revolt at the term "role-playing".

Kyoto~~~ Asellus, what get's to me is when people get bent out of shape when you say they are role playing, because that is what they actually are doing. I'm not trying to diminish what and who anyone is in here... *shrugging* But it's semantics...

Kyoto~~~ The difference being galah, is there are no dice here, no character sheets, we define who and what we are, our words make us who we say we are.
galah{RA}~~~ just seems there should be a different word for what it is we do? it all seems to get lumped together, this one went once to a RP room, did terrible there, they kept using terms we never use, like OOC, and kept calling fouls on this thing or that on this one, she left in a hurry
Asellus~~~ *Smiling openly at both Kyoto and galah* I'll be the first to confess it, I get just as close to characters I don't portray even in a true "game" setting. But the charm about this interaction is that I get to "paint" My own storyline, so to speak, and pour a true piece of Myself into it.
Asellus~~~ Why? Because Gor seems to be elevated above the likes of Dungeons & Dragons. It has more of a purpose and gives us a bit of psychological satisfaction.

GS doesn't honor or abide those * observation * collar things, simply because they often seem to be abused by some.... and technically, GS IS a KILL/Capture zone..... but at times that also becomes a problem due to the * zeal * that new Masters have for collaring ANYTHING that walks past.... trying to hit a happy medium is not an easy task......

Dark Dragon~~~ what I've learned from the unkolared slaves is, you can kolar most if ya push it, but they don't honor it the next day, so what's the poiunt, open the door, if they wish it, then so be it, why waist time kolaring some one that just wishes to come and serve, a little, and then is gone for months ! it is still a choice , and if they don't wish it, no sense forcing itr, it does GS no good !!
