On that, third person was used to help remind a slave of her status, especially if she appeared to be "getting above herself". I personally wish it weren't used so much on-line. HOwever, on the other hand, it is much easier on-line to forget one's self and one's status, so perhaps more frequen reminders like third person are necessary.
