Registration:
People will get a unique password that they can alter after their first login to their preferred password.
Some may have problems with registering hyphenated names like the gs-scribe
example: To get around that Laroona had to register it as scribe
then change it afterwards to GS Scribes

Is there a difference between protective ko'lar and personal ko'lars? in my mind there is, with the
personal being more intimate both mentally and physically, and the other more or less meaning what it says, protection. not to say the beast
wearing the protective ko'lar isnt given attention, and must abide by
her masters house rules, and is there a point in time where the beast in
the protective ko'lar can take the personal ko'lar? is there an actual
switch of the two?.....or.....are the two more or less the same in most
peoples eyes? and if you give a protective ko'lar its the same as personal?

What is the point of a "protective" collar though, if there is no object/goal between the owner and slave?
Do we really need to create a protective environment and cater for a slaves needs as opposed to a slaves lot in life?
If someone is giving a protective collar, or taking a protective collar, with the view of turning it into a personal one later in time, then perhaps the two should reach a mutual agreement on such, if that is really what the two want to do.... ~Shrugs~ but if one or other is not aware of the further intent by the other, ooh I can sense spilled milk ahead on the road.

besides what is to stop a Master/Mistress from changing his/her mind and saying it was a protective collar but i have changed my mind and now its a personal collar. Once a collar is around the neck it is there until Master/Mistress remove it. a slave has no say.

Online you have the option of the X out, and because of that, arrangements might be made between a pair to test the waters, if it is not for them, then they soon find that out. Sheesh, don't see many of our "observation" collared slaves around here lately do we? I don't believe in collaring for Protection, but there is nothing wrong if two people want to explore things they cannot do physically, it is up to them at the end of the day.

At the end of the day, a slave knows what she is doing when she enters a Capture "Zone" and I have given one slave the option to enter without My capturing her, purely because I believe she NEEDS to interact, but what would happen if say, Xertog came in and then decided, "Hmm, I fancy a piece of that" and then goes and collars her? Am I supposed to then go and kill him because I kept My word? Protection in such Zones is a risky choice on both parties because what one man might regard as ethical, may not be the same as what another man and then who is wrong? The person giving the slave protection entry under a supposed virtual Code, or the Man who decides to take a slave in a Gorean manner?
A slave can't simply pick and choose who you want to serve, and when you want to serve him. If she DID want that choice, then you would have to question her true manner.

aurora, ari felt that way once. she felt there was no place for her in GS. as a free neck you are in danger of being captured or killed. Your life is at the mercy of the Free. ari found that it was simpler for her to accept her fate as a slave and take a collar and what better collar to take than that of a trusted friend. Now this does not mean that ari thinks because of their friendship that her life as a slave will be easier, it will only make her work harder to prove that she is worthy of wearing a friends collar. she hopes this makes sense.
