Okay... we have our first topic.... * MULTI-TASKING *.... We all know that it is a rule for slaves to NOT be doing more than ONE action in one room at a time.. ( not being in two rooms and serving and such at the same time ) ... so WHY is it okay for the FREE to be doing 2,3, Christ knows how many different things at the same time, when they are being served by a slave ???

I mean lets be honest here folks, okay ??? I KNOW that many of y'all can do more than one thing at a time on-line.... It is hard for ME, but many of you are much better at it.... BUT, compare it to RT.... If you were talking to somebody and when drifted away in thought... or started watching somebody else in the room doing something, to the point that you lost your interest in what you were doing FIRST, is that not just a plain old SLAP in the face to the one you insulted and ignored ????

Other than being in whispers during a serve, I have not witnessed anyone, be they slaves or be they Free, in two rooms at one time.
And whispers aren't exchanged by just Free to Free, but Free to slaves, slaves to slaves, etc.

amira feels that if a Free is going to be in GS. and ask a slave to do a serve......... He or She needs to understand that each slave puts a lot of thought and energy into that serve.... and it takes time for her to complete and do the serve completely
for a Free to ask this of a girl and not give her the benefit of His or Her full attention is just plain ole wrong... and it is in effect also disrespectful to any other Free who may wish a serve and has to wait for the multitasking Free to respond

and the most frustrating for the slaves is to start a serve get half way and have the Free they are serving either race out or simply disappear.... and then to have the girl look on another site and see the Frees name up in another room at another site!

That's the way I've always looked at it Rollo.
The girls work hard in their serves, and I do my best to watch every detail. If I can't be "in" the moment, I don't feel the need to be here.
Of course, there are the inevitable rti's that are distracting enough.
I know several others don't share My point of view, and think that there are no specific rules against it for the Free, so they think it's ok.

in real time, if a person does not draw another’s interest ... their mind will wander, in search of what they are looking for ...
it is rude, but in turn it should make one work that much harder to keep the interest ... to be more creative ...

It is My humble opinion that a person who feels the need to chat in 2 or more rooms at once isn't really into the Gorean atmosphere, but only trying to make themselves feel popular because they can talk to several people at once.

I have an idea...
There is already a Rule against slaves multi-tasking, anyway, so this doesn't really apply to them...
However....
Since there should be very few Rules regarding the behavior of Free, We should do this:
If any Free are actually caught multi-tasking in other rooms, point it out to All the Other Free, and the next time the Multi-tasker comes in here, We can all ignore Him/Her so They know what it feels like.....

It is a RARE case when * I * accept a serve of food or drink..simply because I KNOW that it will be interrupted by somebody in whispers needing help or asking a question.. so I just don't get served... simple really.... and I don't cyber for crap, so I avoid that also.... but know what I used to do when I DID have the time..... I used to brush some of the kajira's hair.... and talk with her as I did so...... read the books and you will find that to do so is a VERY * Gorean * thing to do......LOL...LOL... BE CREATIVE !!!!!!
