no it was not kahleesi shimmy was totally new to GS when she came here and yes it was extremely hard on her to serve as a white silk again after her old Master had her a red silk... but also shimmy is in a way grateful as she did not know a lot of the GS protocol and it is way different to serve in a tavern setting than on the open plains..
BUT shimmy thinks if you have been around GS ways for a while and happen to have a Master release you you should be evaluated and see if you can go to yellow silks especially if you have been in GS a long time

One more point to remmeber when thinking about differences in the handling of privately and GS owned slaves.
A Master deals with His property, knows the girl, learns about her, trains and educate sher. He will know what silks the girl shall waer - for whatever reason.
A Council of Captains can not deal in the same way with a bunch of slaves and spent so much time with each of them - Capatains have more important things to do *looks around with important eyes*
So the training and test is like a school - more formally than home school from mom and dad.
