Oh I would agree there, Captain Rollo. And also taking into consideration where one is, to. For example, as You said earlier, Port Kar did not have kajiralia, therefore We would not have that here. It also did not recognize Free Companionships, so We couldn't have them here though they could and do elsewhere on Gor.That, however, did not stop the Free Men of Port Kar from claiming a Woman as Theirs.

this may not sound PC or even logical to some, but dogs and slaves both know when a man is their master, and means them no harm.....I have walked up to dogs that many feared, and by letting it sense my * aura * if you will, been able to handle it ... an animal knows when they are safe or at least not in danger..... a slave should be able to also......

Not that I ran across or recall, aura. They do help some with paiin. Mostly they were chewed as chewing tobacco is on earth, and they can become addictive. And I don't believe all slaves were given pain-reducing medications when whipped or branded. Sometimes they were left to suffer it out, as a reminder of their status. The Tuchuk Ubar, whose name I cannot off-hand recall, Chewed it until He became addicted, and if I remember, almost useless from it.

Fear also enters into Master Rollo, flicka has no fear of dogs, she grew up with many animals, and large and small , horses can sense fear and so it is a matter not being afraid and of understanding the body language.

Capatain, I have seen that in dogs too. When My nephew, his girlfriend and I went to the animal shelter to pick out a dog, we were all seated in the lobby, and they were bringing the dogs out to get to know us. and we them. When they brought Hunterr, a Lab/Pointer mix, they stopped in the doorway and let him look us over. Now my nephew is definitely an alpha male. When they let Hunter's leach go, he walked straight over to my newphew and lay down on his back with his legs up in the air in submission. How he knew "who was boss" I don't know, but he did. He will mind Me, but only because I'm the one that feeds him and took him to obedience classes. Otherwise I'd be chopped liver.
