This one thinks the answer to this is rather obvious. People's real time changes and it effects their ability to here or to not be here.
There are those that have disagreements and conflict which causes them to leave.
At times to many girls are collared and restricted and there are not enough "free" girls to draw the interest of those who are new or stop by to see what is going on.
Roleplay tends to happen mostly in the tavern, and those who seek more of roleplay environment on Gor get tired of little else happening than serving food and drink and slaves being furred openly or in the alcoves.

There are many factors to this "cycle", one as stated by shuri, due to all our rt situations especially during the summer months for people stateside, there is a lot that pulls us away.. vacations, school out so on and so forth.
But also, mostly due to fact that snowrose stated, the girls work hard at their role play only to be rewarded with a.... ."I smile and like your serve"... how can we let down a slave any better than that.. its like slapping her for a reward. We as Free are what makes Gor.. WE as Free need to show our appreciation by learning how to role play and reward a girl with hard placed words so she feels like she did well and can smile or feel goose bumps on her arm being rewarded in the time she took to write what she did.
Thirdly, again as stated by shuri, there are many bumps along the way due to misunderstandings, hateful words, judging, finger pointing which poisons any room. Rather than take what is thought to whispers and go from there and used as constructive criticism or make an agreement to just ignore one another.
I have been here for 10 years, pulled into a slanderous situation.. been banned due to it and then asked over and over to come back after ban were lifted. Time and time again I have looked in only to find an empty place... or slaves time taken by one Man instead of being served then hurried on to look after another free....

This one understands that and at one time it helped and was drawing people in.
But as Master Dak said....One can only watch serving and displays of positions for so long before they become lackluster.
This one has always believed that more roleplay in the other rooms about other aspects of Gor would liven the place up a bit.
Until attending book night and learning of the baths of Gor, this one had no idea they were so intricately involved in Gorean life and a great way to do some roleplay outside of the tavern. Has never understood why the people are not in the baths more.

flicka feels that the home is not yet moribund. ~low laugh~, and fully concurs with what shuri said, there is more to Gorean role play than serving and furring in the Tavern. But it is up to us to make more use of the other rooms, to be more creative and inventive in our role play.

This one is true, GS is at a "LOW" point, again due to many factors... however I can only give my own thought and opinion.
as stated in books... slaves make the world of Gor.. PERIOD!!!.. Free come in for the slaves.. whether restricted or not, they are the ones that keep the world going.
IF we as Free do not continously try to keep them motivated with bantering, teasing, flirting, keeping them mischievious and fiesty.. Gor comes to a stall and soon.. people stop coming..

Like has been said.....the slaves can give and give, but if the Masters and Mistresses do not participate as well, there is only so much even talented and dedicated slaves do. And after awhile, they get tired of receiving no fruits of their labors.

In the slave's chores section for chores.
In the Role Playing ie Port Kar room for fantasies, little stories and so on.
