1)Could Gorean Men truly be Masters without slaves around? How? He would be a Master to Himself. His land and everything he owns.
2)How would no slaves change the role of Free Women? Maybe. In the books most FW where taught how to serve drinks and foods to FW. Also they where taught the dances of slaves. Why they where taught this was because a FW is Free mainly because FM allow it
3)The welfare of Men is not in the hands of slaves. Or is it? i would say Yes. He allows her the breath she draws and the food she eats. He owns her fully.
4)How do you show your slave that she or he is more than just a sexual being or only. By caring for them, by punishing if need be. By sheltering them and protecting them.

I was discussing this topic with a Friend Who was formerly of on-line Gor, and gave it up in disgust. His thoughts are that no, on-line Gor would not last, because without slaves, on-line Gor would become merely "another chat room".

because these men want to own women, to know them in ways a FW would never deign to give Them, to have the control, the power over another's will. Also, sex is a very important part of the Gorean experience...slaves are seductive in a way FW can never be. There could be no public sexiness, so at best it would just be sex in PM, and you can get that anywhere.
slaves are an important part of Gor. It would just be chatting and drinking without them

I may be cynical, but my thought is NO! Because unfortunately, all too many Men come to Go to screw with the slaves. In the absence of that, Most would quickly leave, and alas, there wouldn't be enough True Masters and Mistresses to keep it going.
And yes, I am acquainted, to My delight, with Many FINE Gorean Men and Women on-line. Both here at GS and at other Sites. Alas, I know too many more that are nothing but HNGS, with no knowledge of Gor, nor any interest in learning about it.

I think that if you didn't have slaves in on-line Gor, when you got to the books, many or most of the girls would want to be slaves and all of the Males would want slaves of their own.....
However, this particular venue for online -Gor doesn't appear to be the proper environment for free companionship to flourish....
