In one book slaves use crossbows which the fetched from the enemy to help Tarl Cabot who stand a lone against any army of enemies, it was discussed in the book how to deal with them for violating the "´slaves don´t touch weapons" order.

Turian eating prong: The only utensils most Gorean tables possess are a knife and spoon. But, Turian tables commonly have this utensil which is similar to a fork. It is generally unique to the city though the idea has been spreading.

Oh and here is something interesting. Though this Tavern would not in all likelihood be up to serving a high feast:
Turian feast: These feasts, similar to some of the feasts of ancient Rome, typically consumed most of the night as they could consist of as many as one hundred and fifty courses. Proper etiquette requires that each guest at least taste each of the myriad courses. As this is an incredible amount of food, there is some recourse available to alleviate one's fullness. In between courses, guests may use a tufted banquet stick, dipped in scented oils, to induce vomiting into a golden bowl. Obviously slaves will carry full bowls away from the table to dispose of the contents.

In Port Kar, in the battle, in "Raiders" I think, the slaves picked up weapons and fought beside Bosk despite His orders not to, and no punishment was meted out. The quote on slaves not touching knives also had in it a statement that no doubt they were permittd to use whatever such things their work required.

it is mentioned in one of the books (or may be more) that slaves use special (rounded tips) knives for the work in the kitchen
I don´t recall it ever be mentioned that cutlery has been served to a member of a Gorean feast, not even when it has been a more formal one than they are in Torvaldsland where everybody comes with a knife to the banquet

Two steps of seamless stone lead down from the door to the main floor of the Tavern. By being slightly lower on the ground floor, the ceiling of the main room is higher than normal, dwarfing even the mightiest of Men. Beamed with wood for support, and black with the soot from the torches and lamps, it only adds to the almost overpowering sense that this is indeed ... Port Kar.

Unfortunately, the web page, which describes the Tavern in detail right down to stone steps into the pit, says nothing about the floor itself or its structure. It does say the building as a whole is of stone.

In the center of the tavern, recessed a foot or so into the floor, is a large sand pit in the shape of a figure "8". The half of the "8" nearest the fire pit in the rear wall contains a tall wooden whipping post. The other half of the "8" nearest the entrance to the tavern is empty, so that men may fight in the pit without obstructions, or slaves may dance without the support of the post. The sand is cream coloured, flecked with tiny red and black chips of stone. The second floor, accessible only by passing through the Captains' tables, is not open to general patrons, but contains living quarters for the Captains and guest quarters for certain preferred or honoured guests. It is also rumoured to have a large vault as well, where the loot of pirates and raiders may be stored, but none have provided confirmation of such rumours. The stairwell continues to the roof of the building which provides a partially obstructed view of Thassa in the distance, which has in the past been used to give wounded combatants in the sand pit the Death of Blood and the Sea.

And also, in order to run Her Own household properly, she needsd to be able to know the slaves are doing everything properly.
