As I remember the books, Port Kar is on the Vosk delta... where the Vosk river ends and the Thassa sea begins... it is in an area that for the most part would be warm most of the time... perhaps cool days during some seasons, but never cold enough for snow or frost...

The main thing to remember is that * cold or hot * is a relative issue.... what I mean is that in a place that is warm all the time, cold for some would only be cool for others.... just like at the north pole, a hot day would still be freezing to most...... LOL..

I was born and raised in Utah... cold many months of the year... at times I even went bare foot ( for short times ) in the snow.. then I moved to tropical Queensland, Australia... for many years when others wore sweaters or coats, I went in tee shirts and could not understand WHY they were cold... but after over 20 years here, now I also feel the * cold * a little.....
